A pretty light week in the land auction business this week. This is very typical for this time of year. Things look to be trading in the $111-90 per CSR2 point. Location, drainage, and improvements play a big roll in determining farmland values. There is still a high demand for productive farmland, the question is when will commodity prices turn back north and, when will the next interest rate hike take place. If interest rates increase this fall, that will be the biggest factor in land values this fall. If you are on the fence about selling, I think now is a good time to sell. Rates are still low in the borrowers eyes and as we know an asset is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
