This week was a steady week for auctions in Iowa. There were 28 auctions across the state. Of the 28 auctions, all but two farms sold. Last week’s auction highlight was in Sioux County, Iowa with an 80 acre farm bringing $13,900 per acre. Following just behind that great auction sale was a farm in Lyon County, Iowa that brought $11,900, just shy of $12,000 an acre. Northwest Iowa has been very strong with auction sales last fall and this spring. We predict the same results for the future unless more supply of farmland comes to the market all at one time.
