About Jim


Jim moved to Southeast Iowa in the 6th grade when his parents were transferred from Georgia. As a young boy, he realized he enjoyed what life had to offer in SE Iowa and quickly developed a passion for the outdoors. Jim is an avid bowhunter with several Boone and Crockets under his belt. He practices QDM on his personal farms hunting for pheasant, turkey, water fowl, and whitetail deer. Jim is in tune with Iowa’s strong agricultural presence and has extensive knowledge of farming practices.


Jim received a Master’s Degree in Education from Iowa State University, B.A. degree from Buena Vista College, and Geospatial Technology Degree from Indian Hills Community College where he discovered his interest in drones. Jim worked in Higher Education for 20 years and was recognized for his dedication, honesty, integrity, loyalty, and customer service by receiving the Iowa Professional of the Year in 2014. Jim currently resides in Ottumwa, Iowa with his wife Darcy of 18 years and their two black labs named Louie and Kody.  


Being from Ottumwa, Jim has developed strong relationships throughout SE Iowa, his passion for preserving God’s land, and his commitment to his clients guarantees Jim will work tirelessly on your behalf. Jim is in tune with Iowa’s strong agricultural presence and has extensive knowledge of farming practices. Jim knows southeast Iowa and the land market in Wapello, Davis, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, and Louisa counties. Over the past three months, Jim has sold over 22 farms, helping sellers throughout his southeastern Iowa territory turn their dirt to SOLD.
