Weekly Land Auction Results in Iowa

This past week farmland auction sales show strong sales in areas and some moderate to low sales in areas from what we have been seeing in the last few years. Farmland sale values this week show us that sales depend on regional demand. If your farmland is located in a ” Strong” area values have flattened, some areas where farmers have saved cash reserves, these areas have actually climbed in values. Landowners that stayed away from buying land in the ” so called” inflated land values era, this caused from high commodity prices, now are looking to purchase land. Although we have seen a 20%-25% decrease in land value since the peek in 2013 land is still trading rather high. Could we see more decrease in value? I think we could…. How much will it correct itself??? No one knows.  If you are looking at potentially selling the family farm I think now is still a good time too sell farmland in Iowa. Contact any of our qualified land agents here at Iowa Land Company to assist you in a FREE no obligation farm evaluation. Check back next week for more auction sales results.
