It was a relaxed week last week for land auctions across the state. In all 99 counties there were only 6 different tracts of land offered for public auction. Of the 6 auctions 50% of the farms did not meet the sellers expectations, therefore “no saled.” Last week’s highlight was selling a very nice 80 acre farm that supported a 89.7 CSR2 in Sac County that that sold for $9,400 an are or $108.87 per CSR2 point. Overall this week’s auctions are a good example of why high quality farmland sells best on auction and why you should really consult with a company does a great job offering farms for sale through the listing method when considering selling recreational and pasture land.
