Weekly Iowa Farmland Auction Results
Weekly Land Auction Results in Iowa
Vary- differ in size, amount, degree, or nature from something else of the same general class
This would be my word of choice on the current state of the land market. We are seeing very high numbers and some lower then expected numbers coming in on recent sales. Last week ILC was in Johnson County selling a farm at $106 per CSR2 point followed by an up and down sale in Warren County. Rising rates, low commodities, and uncertainty in the economy has put some recent pressure on farmland values. Highlights from last week were sales in O’Brien County at 14,300 per acre on a mid 90’s CSR2 farm. In Jasper County a mid 70’s CSR2 farm brought $9,100 both of these come from auctions. We seen farms trading in Central Iowa in the $80-85 per point dollar range. I am a firm believer if we do not see a upward trend in the 12 month on commodities we will see a downward trend in land values over the 12 month. Iowa Land Company tracks land auctions across the entire state on a weekly basis.
